USES
In a world where safety is a priority, fire protection pipes play a crucial role in fire prevention, whether in commercial, industrial, or residential buildings. Our fire protection pipes are made with high-resistance materials capable of withstanding the most extreme conditions and ensuring efficient operation in case of emergency. The fire protection solutions we offer are designed to enable the rapid evacuation of water, ensuring that sprinkler and hose systems are always operational. We understand how important it is to have fire protection systems that work perfectly, which is why we only distribute products that comply with all safety and quality regulations.
The REPOLEN FIRE RP System consists of pipes and fittings designed to implement fire suppression systems using automatic sprinklers and equipped fire hose reels (BIE). This fire protection system is made up of multilayer pipes manufactured with an inner layer of polypropylene random copolymer with a modified crystalline structure (PP-RCT). The intermediate layer is made of PP-RCT and additive fiberglass, which reduces the effects of expansion and contraction due to temperature variations over the pipe’s lifetime. The outer layer is made with PP-RCT and a flame-retardant additive that provides fire resistance.
This type of piping is suitable for fire protection installations with wet pipes permanently charged with pressurized water. The REPOLEN FIRE RP system is halogen-free, as it does not include fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, or astatine in its composition. This ensures that no harmful substances are released during combustion, avoiding the emission of toxic smoke that can harm people and cause corrosion in metals. REPOLEN FIRE RP pipes and fittings are treated to successfully pass the B-s1,d0 fire reaction classification tests. The B-s1-d0 certification is part of the European fire reaction classification for construction materials, one of the strictest in terms of fire behavior. This classification indicates that our REPOLEN FIRE RP pipes have a low contribution to fire, very limited smoke production, and zero production of flaming droplets and/or particles. We hold DIT (Technical Suitability) certificates for water distribution systems in fire suppression installations, including both automatic sprinklers and equipped fire hose reel networks (BIE), as well as the FM1635 certification from the United States by ICC ES.
98% of fires that occur in places protected by automatic sprinklers are controlled at their initial stage, without human intervention and without causing significant damage. When the heat from a fire acts on the sprinkler bulb, the liquid inside boils, the vapor pressure breaks the glass, releases the plug, and then the pressurized water in the fire protection pipe network is discharged and sprayed onto the deflector, creating a mist of water. If the fire is intense and not controlled by the first sprinkler, a second one activates, then a third, if necessary.
Equipped fire hose reel systems (BIE) are fixed installations primarily used by emergency personnel, providing immediate access to water in the event of a fire. They consist of a water supply source, a piping network for water distribution, and the necessary fire hose equipment.
APPLICATIONS AND USES OF REPOLEN FIRE PIPES
The qualities of PP-R make the multilayer pipes made from this material ideal for the following types of installations:
Fire protection systems
- Automatic sprinklers
- Equipped fire hose reels
